sue me.

I realize that, once again, I have been MIA from my little blog. I do apologize, but at the same time say sue me. "You can't rush art." Spoken by the old toy repairman in Toy Story 2 (who also happens to be Jerry from the short film before A Bug's Life)...Not that I'm saying that what I'm writing is art. It's just another excuse.

I really have been trying to think of something to write, but since the bosom-nestled chihuahua story, I haven't been able to find anything that could compare. So I'll just start over.

Yesterday, I was riding the lightrail system in Salt Lake City, and we passed a St. Patrick's Day parade. Yeah, yeah. St. Patrick's Day is on the 17th (next Thursday), but it's not the ideal day of the week to hold a parade so they had it on Saturday. Well, two gentlemen, who didn't seem to know each other, commented on the parade. This is how their conversation went:

"Is it St. Patrick's Day today?"
"I don't know. When is it?"
"Today's the 12th. That sounds about right."
"Yeah, the 12th...St. Patrick's Day. Okay."
"Dang, I'm not wearing green. I'm going to get pinched."
"Yeah, neither am I. Yours could count for green."
"It'd be a stretch, but yeah."

The man was wearing orange.

In honor of my Irish heritage, I would like to proclaim that St. Patrick's Day is on the 17th of March. It always is. It's not going to change. Because of these two men, I know feel it is my duty to educate every single one of you that read this that St. Patrick's Day is on the 17th of March.

And please don't ever think that you can wear orange and try to get away with it being green.
